1.Romeo and Juliet
This play is an early tragedy (and likely Shakespeare’s first) about two teenage “star-cross’d lovers” whose “untimely deaths” ultimately unite their feuding households. The play has been highly praised by literary critics for its language and dramatic effect. It was among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with “Hamlet” is one of his most frequently performed plays. Its influence is still seen today, with the two main characters being widely represented as archetypal young lovers. This is the singularly greatest romance ever written and has been continuously adapted to each generation in musicals, cinema and the theatre.

Comment:
I think 'Romeo and Juliet' is such a sad and unfortunate story that I have read. In this story, Romeo is a changeful person for his love because he loves the beautiful Rosaline before he meets Juliet. He changes his heart easily. Juliet is faithful to remain her love for Romeo and never compromise with Paris who wishes to marry her. Even though their parents are not allow them to marry each other, but they didn't give up their love and in the end they die for each other by drinking the poison. This shows that how they love each other and would like to sacrifice their life to prove their love.
2. King Lear
Lear, the aging king of Britain, decides to step down from the throne and divide his kingdom evenly among his three daughters. First, however, he puts his daughters through a test, asking each to tell him how much she loves him. Goneril and Regan, Lear’s older daughters, give their father flattering answers. But Cordelia, Lear’s youngest and favorite daughter, remains silent, saying that she has no words to describe how much she loves her father. Lear flies into a rage and disowns Cordelia. The king of France, who has courted Cordelia, says that he still wants to marry her even without her land, and she accompanies him to France without her father’s blessing.

Comment:
I think the king is so foolish to believe the 'sweet words' from his first and second daughter but angry with his youngest daughter who tell him the unpleasing truth. We should listen to the truth and learn to distinguish between lies and truth. All of his behaviour make him regret after he realises that Cordelia is the kindest daughter he has. He loses all of his power because of his stupid. In the end, the sympathetic Cordelia forgives his father but she died. So, this is also an unfortunate story for me.

Thoughts:
In my memories, I remember a teacher who wasn't very young but pretty and always keep smiling who taught me when I was studying year 6 at primary school. She is a nice teacher but a little strict to us. She taught us 'Chinese' and 'Math' and treated us just like her sons or daughters so we called her 'god-mother'.
She was full of responsibility and always tried to explain more clearly about her teaching so we could understand it easily. She also have a sweet voice that can attract us to pay attention during her class. When I was studying at primary school, my Mathematics wasn't very well but she didn't feel annoying and keep her patience to teach me as possible as she can. We weren't used to be bored in her period because she always tell us about her son, her family or something interesting in her life. Once, she told us that she was the champion of the singing contest during her school life. She is a humorous person and always making jokes among us so we like her very much.
She corrected us in time after we commit an error. She also concerned us about our examination results even if the subjects she never taught us. She advised us to study harder and harder to improve our knowledges and encourage us to read some books to build our inner-value.
Because of having a nice 'god-mother like her, our class became a warm 'family' day by day so I felt very happy that I have a good teaher like her. I believe that I will remember her forever because her teaching affected me deeply.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Little Mary is an orphan, come from India to her relatives in England. Her cousin Colin is a sicky lad, living in the same large cold house that Mary has been sent to. Both children are self-centered and lonely, unhappy in different ways. It is only when Mary finds a rusty old key that opens the long-hidden garden that the two learn to find love and happiness. In the mysteery and beauty of nature and living things, Mary and Colin overcome their problems and reach out to the magic and miracles of the wonders around them.

I thought the story of 'The Secret Garden' was very dreamy and interesting! I loved the illustration in this book especially the picture on the cover page which could make the story more interesting~ In the 'world inside the book', everthing was full of colour. The characters would never feel alone because they had so many friends including all of the animals in the story. I agree that the most in this story is 'Natural beauty can make a better mood'. I love nature so I love this book very much! =)

About the book 'Sock' by Steve Cole
Something strange is going on at Freekham High. Ginger Mutton was always the quiet, unpopular one. Now everybody wants to hear what she has to say - because she's started to predict the future. With a sock. And sockingly enough, her predictions are coming true - just not always to the right people! It seams to be another darned Freekham mystery.

The book 'Sock' was written by Steve Cole. The story is special that about a girl with a strange sock which can predict the future of anyone. After my reading, I thought the pupils shouldn't believe or care too much about the sock's prediction because it couldn't be sure through listening. Actually, this book contains too much vocabulary that I haven't learnt so I think it is hard for me to read.
